Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, nor do they prescribe substances or perform medical treatment, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. Minors (Children & Teens): Sessions for clients under the legal age of majority require the explicit written consent and presence of a parent or legal guardian. Reiki is gentle and always adapted strictly to the minor's comfort level.
Hospice / End-of-Life Care: Reiki is offered strictly as an integrative comfort measure to support peacefulness, relaxation, emotional soothing, and pain management. It does not replace medical palliative care or professional medical protocols.
Animal Reiki is not a substitute for veterinary care or medicine. Reiki session(s) for your animal, is intended to provide relaxation, reduce stress, promote overall health and well-being. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, prescribe veterinary medication, perform medical treatment of any kind or interfere with the treatment of a licensed veterinarian or other medical professionals. Reiki is not a substitute for veterinary care or medicine.
8. Remote Sessions & Jurisdiction Boundary (Liability Buffer)
Gentle Hands Reiki offers virtual and remote energy sessions via third-party video platforms. By booking a session, clients residing outside of Saskatchewan/Canada acknowledge that the services are deemed to be delivered in Saskatchewan/Canada and are strictly governed by its local laws. Clients waive any right to bring legal action in any other jurisdiction.
9. Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk (Liability Buffer)
The client understands that energy work can occasionally release stored emotional or physical tension, which may result in temporary feelings of heightened sensitivity, fatigue, or deep emotional processing. By participating in a session, the client voluntarily assumes all risks associated with such shifts and agrees that Gentle Hands Reiki is not responsible for any personal discomfort, perceived lack of progress, or emotional vulnerabilities that may surface during or following a session.
10. Right of Refusal and Termination (Liability Buffer)
Gentle Hands Reiki reserves the right to refuse service, cancel an active appointment, or terminate an active session at any time, at the practitioner's sole discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, situations involving inappropriate behavior, client intoxication, or instances where the practitioner determines that the client’s physical, psychological, or veterinary needs exceed the scope of a Reiki practice and require immediate medical or psychiatric intervention.
11. Chronic Conditions & Treatment Continuity:
Reiki is offered strictly as an integrative comfort measure. For individuals navigating long-term, complex, or chronic physical and psychological conditions, Reiki sessions are non-invasive and intended solely as complementary care. It does not replace an ongoing, professional medical care plan managed by your primary care physician or specialists.
12. Assumption of Risk & Jurisdiction:
I voluntarily assume all risks related to emotional or physical releases during or after the session. I agree that by booking a virtual session, services are governed solely by the laws of Saskatchewan/Canada and I waive the right to bring legal action in any other jurisdiction. I understand the practitioner retains the absolute right to refuse or terminate service at their sole discretion.
13. Special Care Authority:
If booking a session for a minor, an animal, or a hospice patient, you certify under penalty of misrepresentation that you hold the legal authority to grant consent and explicitly agree to remain present as the authorized parent, guardian, or caretaker for the duration of the care plan.
